My wife and I recently participated in a relationship enrichment seminar. Some of the material was new, but mostly it was a chance for us to work through some things. I am a fan of maintenance, especially preventative maintenance. That way when problems do arise, it is much less costly. One thing that we talked about was assertive communication. This means we actually tell each other what we really want, instead of suggesting it. This is huge for us, since we both have differing personalities. This takes both humility and boldness to do it well. What do you think?

Bless you for taking those classes and for wanting to do "preventative maintenance". :-)
ReplyDeleteI believe communication is essential, and both need to choose to communicate! There's this thing too about learning to speak each other's language :-).
